Principal's Message 2/23/18

posted Feb 26, 2018, 11:18 AM by Chris Hughes   [ updated Feb 28, 2018, 4:48 PM ]

Dear PVMS East Parents,

We continue to talk with students about the need for them to share with adults about anything that concerns them. Parents also continue to contact me and our school counselors to share concerns that come to their attention with the school. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our school. We truly believe that we are partners with you in keeping all of our students safe.

Some safety concerns to be aware of are as follows:

  • Drive the speed limit (5  MPH) on the school campus and around PV East.
  • Drop off and pick up students at designated areas.
  • During school hours, enter the building through the main office. Please have ID available.
  • If you find items that do not belong to your child, please return them to the ‘lost & found’ in the main office.
  • Check that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.

Thank you for your support.

Comprehensive Planning/Special Education Plan Update:

It’s time to begin Comprehensive Planning here at PV. Every three years, school districts are required to create a plan that helps "set the course" for the district over the next three years.  A Steering Committee made up of stakeholders (employees, parents, students, Board members and community members) has been formed to lead this effort and is already working toward developing a mission, vision, and goals for our district.

We hope to provide helpful information throughout this process through website updates and emails. Part of this process will also involve us asking you for feedback about our district through surveys. Keep an eye out for future requests. In the meantime, you can keep up to date on Comprehensive Plan by visiting the district website for information. Check the “News from around the district” for updates or click on the “About” tab and select “Comprehensive Planning” from the drop down menu.
