Principal's Message 5/11/18

posted May 11, 2018, 6:59 PM by Chris Hughes
Dear PVMS East Parents,

We had an AMAZING Orchestra Concert last night and assembly this morning.  Our students are very talented. If you missed it, check out our Facebook posts. Don’t miss the Choral Concert.

  • Choral Concert- Thursday, May 17th at 7:30pm

With the warmer weather we want to encourage our student’s to drink plenty of water. They are permitted to carry clear, plastic water bottles in school. Please note that students may only drink water outside of the cafeteria.  (Coffee, soda , sports drinks, etc. and any food may only be consumed in the cafeteria.)

Talent Show - Thursday, May 31, 2018 –from 7:00pm – 9:00pm @ PVMS East Auditorium ($6).

All students have auditioned and will be showing “their talent their way”. All profits will benefit Julia’s Joy, a tween and teen empowerment program.

Student vs. Faculty Basketball Fundraiser: Help our students defeat the faculty! Every $20 raised by a Homeroom will permit a student to be selected from the homeroom to shoot a foul shot during the Student vs. Faculty Basketball Game on June 12th. All points will be added to the student scoreboard! Also, the 4 Homerooms who raise the most funds will get court side seats during the game.  All proceeds will benefit East Home & School Association.

Dress Code: Please assist us with reminding your student about the dress code. Some of the common areas of concern include the following:

  • Students must wear appropriate footwear.
  • No tank tops (shoulders need to be covered).
  • Shorts or skirts need to be mid-thigh or finger-tip length.
  • Pants or Tops should cover a student’s underwear and meet in the middle.

As always, we strive to keep an open conversation with parents. I greatly appreciate your support with our dress code.

Algebra Keystone: All students who are currently enrolled in Algebra 1 will take the Algebra Keystone exam.

  • Keystone – May 16 & 17  (2 sessions) – Algebra Students

Talent Show: On Thursday, May 31st from 7-9pm in the auditorium our students will be showing “their talent their way”. All profits will benefit Julia’s Joy, a tween and teen empowerment program. Tickets are $6.
