Principal's Message 9/28

posted Sep 28, 2018, 1:15 PM by Chris Hughes

Dear PVMS East Parents,

We had a very busy week with a lot of rain. We are hoping for better weather next week. The students have started the process of selecting their own seats in the cafeteria. We are hopeful to have everyone assigned to tables by next week. Adults in the cafeteria are assisting students with this process so that everyone finds a group to sit with.

Traffic Concern: Please be cautious and drive slowly when pulling into and leaving the circle that is around the school. With have more students travelling with the addition of high school students with parking permits in the East parking lot. We also continue to have many middle school walkers. Please be observant of our students and only drop off students in designated areas. Thank you for your attention to safety.

Mixed Bag Fundraiser:  Greetings from the PVSD Foundation! Our annual Mixed Bag Fundraiser is set to begin Sept. 14. Parents of children in grades K-8 will receive catalogs this week that will show you all of the bags and other items for sale this fall. Can't find the catalog, or don't have a child in elementary school? No problem! Order online at www.mixedbagdesigns.com. In fact, we strongly encourage you to submit your order online this year, since it ensures timely delivery of your items straight to your home. Be sure to enter the Foundation’s fundraiser ID of 57856 (for elementary - K-5 - orders) and 836864 (for middle school/high school - gr. 6-12 - orders) so a portion of your sale goes to the Foundation. Mixed Design Bags make great gifts for the holidays, so why not get some of your shopping done early? This fundraiser will last through Oct. 12. Questions? Email:pvfoundationmixedbags@gmail.com Please read the attachment.

Vaping Fact Night: All parents are encouraged the attend a Vaping Fact Night at PVHS on October 18th at 6:30PM. Please save the date and RSVP at pvsdvaping.eventbrite.com

This is a very dangerous trend among middle school students. Please read the attached flyer.

Parent Volunteers: There are many opportunities for parents or guardians to volunteer during the school day. We need help in the cafeteria, Virtual Reality Lab, Makerspace and School Store. All volunteers must have their clearance.

Power Packs

Is your child in need of a Halloween costume?

The PV Power Packs program will be helping to coordinate the distribution of donated Halloween costumes to children in need. If you would like your child to receive a costume, please send the following information to powerpacks@pvsd.org:

  • Child's name and school
  • Costume type (ex.: superhero, princess, animal, etc.)
  • Size

If you would like to donate a costume, please let us know that too.

Thank you for your consideration!

The PV Power Packs program, which supplies students in need with food over the weekend, is seeking non-perishable food donations. Please consider donating INDIVIDUAL-SIZED breakfast, lunch, and snack items such as cereal, oatmeal, mac and cheese (boxes and individual-sized), pasta, Chef Boyardee, ramen, granola bars, raisins, applesauce, fruit snacks, fruit cups, etc. Donations can be dropped off during school hours to any school or the district office. If you prefer to order online, you can send your shipment to the high school (509 Gravel Pike, Collegeville, PA 19426) to the attention of "PV Power Packs."
