Dear PVMS East Parents.

Our first week of school went well. We are off to a great start. Mr. Molnar and I were at each lunch period to help every student get settled into the cafeteria. We also met with each grade to discuss our high expectations for the year. Your children were very respectful, friendly and positive. We stressed our goal for everyone to Respectful and discussed how we can support each other in our school community so that everyone can Grow & Learn.

Facebook: There are many things happening at PVMS East. Please follow us on Facebook.

Library: Our library is currently being renovated and should be open for students by mid-September. Students will find several important changes. New carpet, flooring and painting was added. Large white boards and collaborative spaces including a literacy lounge, café/circulation desk and a tiered seating area for large groups have also been installed. We even included a Makerspace and Virtual Reality Lab.

Volunteers Needed: Our re-designed library along with our new makerspace, multimedia lab and virtual reality lab will need parent volunteers so that students can have maximum access to these spaces.

If you are available any weekday from 7:50 am to 8:50 am or from 10:15am to 12:45pm or from 2:30 to 4:00pm; please contact our librarian Gina Kratz at gmkratz@pvsd.org All volunteers will need their clearances.

Makerspace Donations: If you have Legos, K'nex or Lincoln Logs that you no longer use, please consider donating them to our makerspace. You can drop them off in the main office.

Home & School Association: PV East H&S Association envelope campaign fundraiser is currently underway. A donation envelope and information was sent home on the first day of school. The funds raised will be used to finish the library re-design project.

Dress Code: During our opening day meeting with grade levels, we discussed the dress code for middle school. In support of our district policy and procedures, please review the dress code with your child. This information is located in the handbook folder located under the Parents tab on the PVSD website. Some common dress code issues include the following:

  • Students must wear appropriate footwear.
  • No tank tops (shoulders need to be covered.).
  • Tights or spandex need to be covered by shorts or a skirt and not a long t-shirt.
  • Shorts or skirts need to be mid-thigh or finger-tip length.
  • Pants or Tops should cover a student’s underwear.

As always, we strive to keep an open conversation with parents. I greatly appreciate your support with our dress code.

Drop Off & Dismissal: Please drop off your child off after 7:15AM. The school doors will not be open until 7:15A.M.. Only 1st Bus Run students are dismissed at 2:30PM. The 2nd Bus Run, walkers, athletes and those students being picked up by a car are dismissed at 2:36PM. The timing of this dismissal is important to ensure that both bus runs are in synch. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please contact the main office if you have any concerns or issues.

Have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.
